The #TartaNestEolie project is underway, aimed at monitoring and safeguarding suitable nesting areas for Caretta Caretta in the Aeolian islands promoted by Filicudi Wildlife Conservation and supported by the Aeolian Islands Preservation Fund. The project includes the weekly monitoring of the sandy beaches around the islands, an information campaign for tourists and the local community and specific educational courses for children. As part of the project, the “Mind the Turtle” information panel will be set up in the sandy beaches around Stromboli, Lipari and Vulcano to inform tourists and the local community on the code of conduct in presence of a Caretta caretta nest or spawn event.
