Supporting, in collaboration with Blue Marine Foundation and Smilewave Fund, the work of Filicudi Wildlife Conservation volunteers who monitored the turtle nests in Lipari and Stromboli day and night until the hatching of the eggs.
After the birth of the 16 sea turtles in Stromboli, unfortunately the turtle eggs from the nest of Lipari didn’t hatch. The turtle nesting site has proved to be unsuitable.
The volunteers organized sessions of environmental education to inform adults and children about the importance of protecting this species.
We thank the volunteers of Filicudi Wildlife Conservation who monitored the nest day and night and all those who contributed, from the authorities to the local associations and individuals involved. These nests are the symbol of a potential recovery of the Aeolian sea and have involved the whole community in taking an interest in the protection of the sea.
