IN PANAREA, VULCANO AND MALFA THE #EMERGENSEA CAMPAIGN STARTS, WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE ECO COMPACTORS TO RECYCLE PLASTIC BOTTLES
Following the launch of the first eco-compactor in Lipari last year that allowed to collect and recycle over 70,000 bottles, now Panarea, Vulcano and Malfa have launched the eco compactors that collects, compacts and incentivize the recycling of plastic bottles.
The campaign was made possible thanks to the support of the AEOLIAN ISLANDS PRESERVATION FUND, BLUE MARINE FOUNDATION and CARONTE & TOURIST, in collaboration with the Municipalities of Lipari and Malfa, of the school and the businesses that have been available to host the compactors: Supermarket da Pina in Panarea, Supermarket Sapori & Dintorni Conad in Vulcano and the school in Malfa.
In Salina, the machine will instead be positioned at the complex of the Lipari 1 Comprehensive Institute that from May 10th will remain open during the summer season available to anyone who wants to help the environment by bringing plastic bottles. This campaign takes on a special meaning because it combines an awareness-raising activity with a concrete action to contrast pollution. The campaign starts at a time when these islands are crossed from a great ferment and an extraordinary desire for change.
