The Aeolian Islands Preservation Fund and Blue Marine Foundation are working together to promote the natural and cultural heritage of the Aeolian Islands.
Posters displaying information about the inhabitants of our seas will be exhibited at the ticket offices in Milazzo, in the harbours and ports of the islands and on the Siremar Caronte&Tourist Isole Minori ships that carry thousands of tourists every year to the Aeolian Islands.
The main aim is to promote sustainable tourism and raise awareness for the marine environment in order to protect its future. We thank Siremar and the tickets offices for supporting the project, and the municipalities of Lipari, Santa Marina, Malfa and Leni who have collaborated on the project.
Each and every one of us can make a difference by exploring and enjoying the islands in a manner that respects its delicate ecosystem.
AIPF and BLUE are also working together to promote a network of local sustainable activities and tours, starting with “Muciara Diving Center”. Eco-snorkeling excursions with a marine biologist will be organized, in order to explore the underwater wonders of the Aeolian Islands, learning how to recognize the marine life.
